Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek
The Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek is filled with adventure, exciting moments, and challenging hike. This trek offers you the incredible view of the Himalayas, glaciers, and beautiful valleys. The astounding view of Mount Everest is beyond description. This majestic mountain stands tall among all other mountains, and that is one hell of a sight.
The Everest region is a famous place for trekking. Each year thousands of people visit this region for a once in a lifetime experience. The ancient Tibetan-Sherpa culture is another reason why this area gets tons of visitors. People come here for adrenaline pump and spend some of the best times of their life.
The Renjo La Pass trek is for those who prefer the less crowded alternative route in the Khumbu region and still experience the same adventure.
Your journey starts with a thrilling flight to Lukla from Kathmandu.
Your trek starts at Lukla when you start hiking towards Phakding(2610m) the first day.
The second day is when you reach the beautiful Namche Bajar(3440m).
Namche Bajar is the last place where you can get cash and other stuff before you move forward.
You will rest at Dole(4038m) on the sixth and at Machhermo(4470) on the seventh day of your journey.
You will reach the beautiful Gokyo(4480m) on day 8. Gokyo is a beautiful place with small village and many lakes.
You will explore Gokyo and Gokyo Ri(5357m) the next day and head towards Renjo La pass(5435m) on day 10.
After crossing the Renjo La pass and resting at Lunden(4300) on day 10, you will reach Thame(3800) on day 11 and back to Namche Bazaar on day 12.
On day 13, you will be back at Lukla.

3Flight From Kathmandu To Lukla(2860m) And Hike To Phakding(2610m)
An early flight from Kathmandu will take you to Lukla. The flight duration is about 35 minutes, during which you will get to see fantastic views of the mountains and terrains. Lukla airport is one of the most dangerous in the world, and this will be a thrilling experience for you. Explore this small town and its streets. You can see different eateries and tea houses. And start hiking towards Phakding when you are ready. You will be crossing a few suspension bridges and beautiful landscapes. You will arrive Phakding after a few hours of easy hike. Rest at Phakding for the night.

4Hike From Phakding to Namche Bajar(3440m)
The hike from Phakding to Namche Bajar has lots of ups and downs. You will reach Monjo, a small town after 2 hours of hike. From Monjo, you will hike on a smooth trail for about 1.5 hours, and after crossing a few suspension bridges, you need to take an uphill climb to reach Namche. Climb for around 2 to 3 hours, and you will reach the entry to Namche Bajar. Register at the entry checkpoint and walk for another 15 minutes to reach Namche. Namche is a small town, which is beautiful and gets busy during these trekking seasons. You will stay at a nice Hotel with Wifi and Hot shower.

5Acclimatization at Namche
Getting used to the altitude is very important. It will lessen the risk of altitude sickness. Explore the traditional villages and the streets of Namche Bajar. Get up early in the morning, have some breakfast, start hiking North. You will reach a small village (Khnude village). If you are lucky, you will get to experience the peaceful Buddhist chanting from the local monastery. You can get a great view of the valley from this place. There is another small village just 10 minutes east of Khunde village. Khumjung village is where you can get your first sighting of the sacred Ama Dablam mountain. You can rest here, have lunch, and head off south to the Everest View Hotel. And as the name suggests, you can view Everest from here. Relax your evening at Namche with some hot tea and bread. If you need, you can get some cash and gears. You will find anything later on this journey. Plus, do not forget to take a hot bath here you will rarely get any for the rest of your trekking.

6Hike from Namche to Dole (4038m)
After a day well spent at Namche, you will continue your journey. You were already friendly with altitude because of the acclimatization at Namche yesterday. So, no need to worry about getting some altitude, as today you will be crossing the 4000m mark. The hike to Dole is exciting. You will be walking through dense forests, leaving the classic Everest Base Camp route. The uphill hike can be tiring, but you will be rewarded with incredible views of the Everest. Ama Dablam and Lhotse. You will be able to see ancient monasteries and small Sherpa civilization. Walk across beautiful Pine Forest and reach Dole, after about 6 hours. You will rest at a local tea house for the night.

7Hike To Machhermo(4470m)
Today’s hike includes some pleasant walk through the pine and oak forests. There are some smooth tracks, and there are some steep paths as well. You will be walking alongside the beautiful terrains and mountains at a distance. After gaining some altitude and hike through gentle slopes, you will reach a small settlement, Machhermo. You will spend the night here.

8Reach Gokyo (4800m) And Explore
After a pleasant breakfast at Machhermo, you will head off towards Gokyo. Gokyo has a small town and lakes. You need to hike on a steady uphill to reach the Gokyo village. This hike is exciting, with some rocky trails and beautiful sceneries in the way. You will also get to view the fascinating Ngozumpa Glacier, Gokyo Lake I, and a few monasteries on your way towards Gokyo. The small village of Gokyo has the ancient Sherpa settlement. Feel free to explore this place, and you will get to see some of the most beautiful landscapes and lakes. You will also see the mountains like Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and standing tall among them, the Everest. You will stay tonight at Gokyo.

9Hike to Gokyo Ri (5357m) and Gokyo lake V
The climb from Gokyo village to Gokyo Ri is a difficult one. The climb is straight uphill on some rocky mountains. The path consists of huge boulders and hard rocks. The harsh uphill climb on the rocky mountain is tough. But the reward you will get upon reaching the top is hard to explain. You can see the Gokyo Lake, and the Everest. You can also see the Cho La pass. It will be your second day of acclimatization in this trip. You can explore the Gokyo village or trek to the fifth Gokyo lake. Experience the beautiful day at Gokyo with its tradition and beauty.

10Hike To Lunden (4300m) Via Renjo La Pass (5435m)
Today you will be crossing one of the highest passes in the Everest region. The Renjo La pass is a beautiful place where you will get a panoramic view of some of the highest mountains in the world. You will need to hike on some steep slopes and challenging paths. The journey is thrilling as we hike towards the northern valley through rough landscapes. You will get to experience the harsh terrains which will give you an idea of the Tibetan valley. Your journey consists of some grasslands and steep mountains. Climb through steep paths until you arrive at the Renjo La Pass. You can view the magnificent mountains and beautiful terrains and valleys. Climb downhill from Renjo La Pass through the beautiful grassland alongside the Bhote Koshi Valley. You will reach Lunden after few hours of smooth hike. You will rest in this small town for the night.

11Hike From Lunden To Thame (3800m)
Have breakfast at Lunden, and start your journey towards Thame. The hike is mostly a downhill climb with beautiful sceneries. You will walk across a narrow valley along the banks of Bhote Koshi river. Get awed by the beauty of the valley and river while you descend towards Thame. Thame is a small Sherpa settlement where Tenzing Norgay spent most of his childhood. This town has a Monastery and reflects the ancient Sherpa culture. Explore this beautiful town, and rest here for the night.

12Hike To Namche Bajar
Your vigorous journey is about to come to an end, as today you will be heading back to Namche Bajar. The hike does not consist of any extreme ascending or descending. You will be walking on a smooth trail back to Namche Bajar from Thame. Upon arriving Namche, take a hot shower at your hotel, you deserve this. Take your time and enjoy the place.

13Hike to Lukla
This is going to be your last day in this region. There are many ups and downs during your hike to Lukla. Relax at your hotel and get some rest, you deserve it. Relieve your journey with some photographs, and write a journal if you like. Tomorrow morning you will be flying back to Kathmandu.

14Fly Back To Kathmandu
Pack your bags and head off to the airport. Today you will be reaching Kathmandu. Back to the luxury, back to civilization, and back to the comfort. After getting an early flight, you will be reaching Kathmandu in 30 minutes (more or less).
