GOSAINKUNDA TREK
Highlights of The Trek
Our Gosainkunda Trek is 5-days long mildly arduous trekking package which takes us through the natural wonders to the pristine and sacred glacier lake of Gosainkunda, situated north of Kathmandu. Gosainkunda Trek follows the remote and hidden trail into the sparsely populated area of the Langtang region.
The Gosainkunda Trek initiates from the beautiful hill town of Dhunche and moves through lush rhododendron and conifer woods in Langtang National Park. We then reach high alpine pasture land, high passes, glaciers and moraines to Lauribinayak Pass eventually leading us to the Gosainkunda Lake where Destroyer God- Shiva himself is speculated to have resided.
A ceremony is held in Gosainkunda Lake in every full moon of Bhadra (coincides with the English month of August) during which Shaman, Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims offer a visit to Gosaikunda Lake. If you have the opportunity to make it during this time, you should!!
Salient features of Gosaikunda Tour encompasses 360 degree views of Majestic Mountains, visiting the most revered Gosainkunda Lake where Lord Shiva himself is deemed to reside, having close- up Mountain View and passing through Tamang and Sherpa Villages which lets you have rare chance of familiarizing with local traditions of those who have lived in the area throughout the years.
